Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: 15 February 2026 | Last Updated: 15 February 2026
1. Definitions
"Olvera," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Olvera, a legal practice providing inheritance law services at 44, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, 50100 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. "Service" refers to the legal advisory, documentation, and consultation services we offer. "User," "you," and "your" refer to any individual accessing our website or engaging our services. "Agreement" refers to these Terms & Conditions together with any engagement letter signed between you and Olvera.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website or engaging our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services. You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
3. Service Description
Olvera provides inheritance law services in Malaysia, including mutual will advisory, minor beneficiary protection, and real property succession planning. Our services are available to individuals located in Malaysia. The specific scope of any engagement will be defined in a written engagement letter or quotation provided before work begins.
4. User Responsibilities
When using our website or engaging our services, you agree to: provide accurate and truthful information, use the website only for lawful purposes, not attempt to interfere with the functionality or security of the website, and not reproduce, distribute, or modify any content on the website without our written permission. During an active engagement, you agree to provide all relevant documents and information needed for us to advise you properly and in a timely manner.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, and layout — is the property of Olvera and is protected under Malaysian intellectual property law. You are granted a non-transferable right to view and use the website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the website without our prior written consent. Legal documents prepared for you during an engagement become your property upon full payment.
6. Payment Terms
Fees for our services are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and will be set out in a written quotation or engagement letter before work commences. Payment terms will be specified in the quotation. We accept bank transfers and cheques. If the scope of an engagement changes after work has begun, we will discuss any revised fees with you before proceeding. We do not offer refunds once substantive work has been completed, though partial refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis if an engagement is terminated early by mutual agreement.
7. Service-Specific Terms
For will advisory and drafting engagements, the service includes consultation, drafting, dual review, and execution assistance. Post-execution amendments or new wills are treated as separate engagements. For testamentary trust services, the trust deed is finalised upon your approval, and any subsequent changes to trust terms require a new engagement. For property succession consultations, our advisory report is based on information and documents available at the time of review. We are not responsible for changes in property status or legal framework after the report is delivered.
8. Disclaimers
Our website content is provided for general informational purposes and does not constitute legal advice. You should not rely on website content as a substitute for professional legal counsel. While we strive to keep information accurate and current, we make no warranties about the completeness or timeliness of website content. The outcome of legal matters depends on individual circumstances, and we do not make representations about specific results.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Olvera's total liability for any claim arising from our services or your use of this website shall not exceed the total fees paid by you for the specific engagement giving rise to the claim. We shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Olvera, its solicitors, and staff harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms & Conditions, misuse of our website, or provision of inaccurate information during an engagement.
11. Termination
Either party may terminate an engagement by giving written notice. Upon termination, you are responsible for fees accrued up to the termination date. We will return any original documents provided by you. Certain provisions of these terms — including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and indemnification — survive termination.
12. Dispute Resolution
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through informal discussion. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia. Both parties agree to the jurisdiction of the courts in Kuala Lumpur.
13. General Provisions
These Terms & Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy and any engagement letter, constitute the entire agreement between you and Olvera regarding the matters covered. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Our failure to enforce a right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right. We may not assign our obligations without your consent, and you may not assign yours without ours.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to check this page periodically.
